Would you like to host a “Missing Party”?

Are you tired of hosting those demonstration type parties?  You know the kind.  The ones which require you to buy goods and clean your house before your friends come over.  If so, then consider hosting a “Missing Party”.

In 2012 the Kent County Search and Rescue K9 Unit will be bringing their training exercises to your neighborhood.  In a majority of our searches the missing person has left his or her residence. This means that the person’s scent has saturated the area and the dogs have to find the freshest scent trail out of the area.

If you, your relatives, or friends would be interested in hosting a “Missing Party”, we’d love to work with you. You supply the “Missing Subjects” (aka friends) and we supply the Search Team.

Our very friendly trailing dogs will not start from within the house but rather outside.  Although the handlers need practice entering the houses and collecting scent articles, we can work with the host on this if someone would rather us not come in.  You don’t always have to hide outside. You can walk to a friend or relative’s house or even a nearby business.

The doors open at 6:00 PM and the training begins at 7:00PM.  We encourage all participants to arrive early to allow time for registration and to browse the displays that will be setup.
