The Management Unit provides a pool of trained and qualified search managers.  This unit contains some of the most seasoned veterans who know and understand search methodology, missing person traits and habits, and how to effectively manage a search team in the field.

Investigative Group

  • Conducts family interviews
  • Obtains detailed subject description
  • Obtains subject’s Point Last Seen (PLS)
  • Secures scent articles for K9 handlers

Planning Section

  • Defines incident objectives
  • Determines missing person profile
  • Establishes search sectors
  • Establishes sector priorities

Operations Section

  • Carries out Incident Objectives
  • Assigns teams to search sectors
  • Manages requests for additional resources
